Create a Standout Digital Portfolio

Step into the exciting world of digital advertising! In this high-energy program, high school students design dynamic social media ads for a local business, gaining hands-on experience with real-world digital campaigns.

Students explore the fundamentals of graphic design, visual storytelling, and digital layout, learning how to create ads that capture attention, communicate a message and engage an audience. By the end of the workshop, students have a mini portfolio of professional-quality digital ads to showcase their work.

Curriculum

Students learn to:

  • Design engaging social media ads using Figma.
  • Apply principles of color, typography, layout, and hierarchy.
  • Use visual storytelling to communicate messages effectively.
  • Create professional-quality digital ads for a real client.
  • Present completed ads as part of a mini portfolio.

A German-Persian designer and educator, Zoya Laskowski brings more than a decade of experience in research and multimedia practice. Her projects have been exhibited, published, and awarded internationally by institutions including the Tokyo Type Directors Club, the German National Library, the Kyiv Museum of War, and the European Union鈥檚 Creative Europe program. At Pacific, Professor Laskowski mentors students in research-driven, practice-based design, integrating innovative digital technologies with traditional design approaches. Her work often explores the intersections of media, blending emerging technologies with timeless principles of graphic design.
