Creating Media

Create and Showcase Content

In this program, offered by Pacific's Art, Media, Performance and Design Department, students gain the knowledge and skill sets needed to create videos for social media and future ambitions in filmmaking/videography.

Students develop their cinematic aesthetics through the storytelling medium. With their faculty, they engage in practical on- field production practices and workflows used in the entertainment industry at large. At the end of the workshop, students produce a 1-3 minute videos showcasing their skills. The program concludes by students presenting and showcasing their videos to their friends and families.

Curriculum

Students will gain exposure in professional film and media practices in a collaborative and dynamic creative environment. Students will learn the below topics:

  • Audio Engineering
  • ...and more!

Students will discuss and analyze emerging trends in advertising and storytelling for social media and gain insights and knowledge in working with clients in the film, advertising and entertainment industries.

Professor Zo毛 Alyce Salnave is an award-winning filmmaker and educator whose work in directing, producing, and teaching is grounded in more than fifteen years of experience creating space for diverse voices, women, and marginalized communities to be heard, explored, and uplifted. Professor Salnave's research centers on collective, societal, and diasporic memory and on how stories are carried, inherited, and retold across cultures, shaping both film production and the communal experience of watching and re-experiencing story as a modern fireside tradition.
