Family and friends are welcome and encouraged to attend the All-University Commencement and Diploma and Hooding ceremonies. Tickets are not required, and there is no limit on the number of guests who may attend. Seating is available on a first come, first served basis.
We expect temperatures to be in the nineties during Commencement weekend. Please make sure to dress appropriately and bring your reusable water bottle and sunscreen. For our outside ceremonies on Knoles Lawn, we will have some sail shading available for graduates and their guests.
Commencement and Diploma and Hooding ceremonies vary, but most are approximately 60-90 minutes in length.
Campus map and parking
On-campus parking is free but extremely limited. Carpooling is recommended due to possible traffic delays. Public Safety Officers will direct traffic on the day of commencement; We suggest you park in the first available spot you find.
Wear comfortable shoes as some lots are located on the opposite side of campus from the event. You can also utilize our free shuttles from any marked campus shuttle stop.
The 2026 Commencement map will be provided here when available.
Accessibility
Accessible seating is available on the paved center walkway; additional seating in that area is designated for one attendant. We encourage guests to arrive early.
Special parking arrangements have been made for guests with accessibility needs. These vehicles will be directed to these locations by Public Safety officers. You must have a state-issued Accessible Parking placard to take advantage of this parking. There will also be specific drop-off zones for guests with special needs.
