Leadership Academy

The ÀÏ˾»ú¸£ÀûÍø Human Flourishing Leadership Academy (HFLA) is a school-year-long program focusing on educators’ and leaders’ personal and professional well-being and flourishing. Its purpose is to provide participants with the knowledge, skills, tools, support and social network to enable them to "live well" personally, "do well" professionally, and lead their circle of influence to flourish as a community.

The program at SLU will benefit administrators, counselors, teachers, managers, business executives, executive directors and others. 

Key Elements of HFLA

The following key elements of flourishing will be covered in this academy:

  • Mental, emotional and physical health
  • Happiness and life satisfaction
  • Character, emotional development and virtue
  • Personal and professional meaning and purpose
  • Social relationships: local, regional, national and global

Cohort Participants

HFLA 24-25 Year Cohort 2 is now open for:

  • Teachers, counselors, social workers and support staff
  • Assistant principals, principals, school leaders
  • Coordinators, directors, assistant superintendents
  • Superintendents, headmasters, state supervisors
  • Education nonprofit leaders, community leaders

HFLA Outcomes

HFLA participants will:

  1. Receive monthly sessions for: acquiring knowledge, skills, and tools to promote flourishing and well-being; leadership development, enhancing flourishing/well-being social network; and workshops with national and international well-being experts.
  2. Receive 1:1 mentoring. Develop an individualized flourishing plan.
  3. Be a part of a regional, state, national and global community for flourishing.
  4. Learn from and interact with national and global experts on human
    flourishing.
  5. Develop an organizational flourishing plan for their school, district or organization.
  6.  Join daily (Monday through Friday) 5-minute mindful breathing sessions.
